1975 Porsche 914 (sans rust!) - NPoCP? $8,995 "Completely rust free original car, even sail panels and battery box are rust free. Does run and drive but has had very few miles in the past few years. Fuel has been drained, Fuel filter, air filter and spark plugs, cap / rotor and points replaced. Oil cooler seals replaced. dash is nice, seats good, nds carpets. recently painted in orig color but very poor quality, looks good from 10 ft. Car will need some tinkering or treat it to a well deserved easy restoration ...."

Wheels are wack. Paint job sucks. Late rubber bumpers. But all those things are fixable, if you're willing to wrench and sit on it a few years. You probably wouldn't lose much money. But if you were looking for an investment, I'd say 74 is the last year anyone of sound mind would want.

I thought those might not be stock wheels ... and why '74?

74 had sorta funny bumpers (they had those prongs), but they were still painted. The last cars had those giant rubber schnozes that are disproportionate to the realities lightness of the car. They just look like they're wearing clown noses.

I kind of like it. I'm not too familiar with them though, what do the 914s usually run for?

Went back to edit, apparently too late to, so:

Can't recall off the top of my head what engines those 75s had, or if they were FI. If they did the 2.0l, it was probably FI, but I think the 1.7s and 1.8 were carbed. Of the 4 cyls, I think the 74 2.0s were the good ones, but don't quote me 100% on that.

My knowledge regarding these cars is limited at best. 9 grand for a project car that needs a paint job and more work, no matter how pretty, seems a bit steep. Someone throw me a rope - I'm drowning here!
